Vega Whyte Laydie Conversion No.2 Openback Banjo (1925)
This vintage Vega conversion banjo has a ~11-3/4" hide head on a Whyte Laydie tone ring, and a maple rim trimmed with plastic tortoise binding. The natural gloss finished two-piece maple neck by an unknown maker has an ivoroid bound ebony fretboard with Whyte Laydie No.2 style inlays. The neck is further styled with an ebony heel-cap and an S scoop at 17th fret. The peghead inlays feature the classic gryphon on the ebony headstock overlay. Comes with Boulder gigbag. Made in USA.
