Vega Tubaphone Conversion Openback Banjo (1930)

Vega Tubaphone Conversion Openback Banjo (1930)

Vintage Vega meets Minnesotan! This cherry neck 5-string conversion has a nice sound, re-made by Andy Denny of Minnesota. Features the original 1930s rim and tubaphone tone ring, and bracket band with 28 brackets. Newer spec details include a 10-15/16" Renaissance head, 22-fret ebony fingerboard with unusual pearl inlays (purportedly the off-cuts from inlays on a banjo built for Steve Martin!), vintage geared Grover tuners with ivoroid buttons, geared 5th tuner with newer white plastic button, wooden truss rod cover. Excellent playing banjo! Comes with '60s hard shell case. Made in USA (twice!).
